Bill Young bio:

Speaker and author Bill Young inspires entrepreneurs and not-for-profit leaders to create quality relationships and raise more funds – fueling their ability to grow a great organization and achieve their vision.

Through his presentations, consulting, workshops, and books, Young shares "from-the-trenches" advice, guidance, and insight to help leaders achieve their vision. He mentors and inspires not-for-profit leaders needing to improve fundraising as well as entrepreneurs needing to raise investment capital.

As a business owner, entrepreneur, and community leader, Young has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars in investments for his businesses and in donations for multiple Denver-area non-profit organizations.

Young began his entrepreneurial journey in 1996. He has started and invested in several firms including:

  • Management Factor, Owner – Young’s current speaking and consulting firm
  • Talus International, Board Member – Unitizing healthcare services, making them tradable via contract on an open market to mitigate risks and control costs
  • XploreNet, Chairman of the Board (1997 to 2008) – Website development and technology consulting firm, successfully sold divisions in 1999 and 2000
  • Dovetail Solutions, Initial Advisor (2005-06) – Full-scale marketing and communications company
  • Security Threat Films, Investor and Partner – Produced the movie Seclusion
  • Siva Therapeutics, board member
  • ROOF Donations, advisor

A successful Denver-area businessman, Young has raised millions of dollars in private equity and successfully sold divisions of XploreNet. He has been honored by the Denver Business Journal with the Forty Under 40 award, PC Magazine’s Technology Award, and the Denver Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Private Company award. In addition, Young has consulted with hundreds of organizations including GE, Quiznos, Starz, Qwest, Pak Mail, and the State of Colorado.

About the same time Young began his entrepreneurial journey, he began contributing significant time and leadership expertise to Denver-area non-profit organizations to make a difference in his community.

Young is an enthusiastic member of the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation and has served in multiple leadership roles. This organization raises approximately $1 million each year for children’s charities including the Griffith Center for Children, I have A Dream, Denver Kids, Inc., and Anchor Center for Blind Children. Denver Active 20-30 has recognized Young as Rookie of the Year and, twice, as Member of the Year. Additionally, Young sits on the Board of Directors for the St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation, Denver Kids Inc., and The Tennyson Center for Children.
